Road 1800

Monday dawned clear and cold.  Just the kind of day I liked to get out and locate some rocks.  Joyce needed to go to Vancouver to be with her Mom, so I took off at 9:30am.  I drove down to Weyehaeuser road 1800, and climbed aboard my trusty mountain bike.

I headed down Road 1800 which is pretty flat(my kind of riding) for about 1 mile before

Thankfully the road is flat.

I started checking out the small creeks that flow into Salmon Creek to the north.  I couldn’t help but notice that there was some logging going on just up the road from where I started.  This didn’t cause a problem since I wasn’t planning on getting into their way.

Most of the creeks didn’t have very much material.  I suppose that was because the brush had kept the flood waters from scouring them out like on the larger creeks.

I was able to find 26lbs of agate, petrified wood, and jasper, but it was hard work busting my way throught the brush.

Here is what I found:

26 Pounds of material.

I think it would be a good idea to check out he hillside after the logging is finished.  It just might prove to produce some nice material.

Thanks for joining me.
