“Great Minds Think Alike”

I was considering heading up to our claim, and emailed Garry to see if he could go. ?He emailed back and had other plans, but he said that Dean was thinking about a trip also. ?I thought that was great, since I don’t like going up there by myself(it’s steep and dangerous). ?Dean and I made arrangements to meet, and after parking we headed down the trail. ?The trail this year was in real good shape, but there was one spot we wanted to level out and make a little safer.

Work!!!

Some people (me included) consider rockhounding a fun activity. ?However, when an active mining claim is involved, work is the word that comes to mind every spring. ?Dean and I headed out today to do some trail maintenance and sign posting. ?We spent 90% of our time at the claim working!!! ?Our first project was to remove a large!! boulder perched near the trail. ?This boulder weighed 7 tons(at least it seemed like it) and was near a steep drop off. ?I didn’t get a picture of the before but here is the after.
