It was over 90 degrees and my son and I wanted to do a little rockhounding in NE Washington. ?There is no better way to cool off than to wade a river or creek looking for agates.
Sanpoil River
Frosty Creek
I was visiting Omak this week and Mark wanted to go rockhounding.
There are two sites that I found that mention agates. ?The first is in the “Gem Trails of Washington” book by Garret Romaine. ?The site is the gravel bars of the Sanpoil River south of Republic. ?The second was mentioned in?Vol II of?Bob Jackson’s ?series of rockhounding books. ?This site is in the hills above the Aeneas Valley.
