Mountain
Biking & Cross Country Skiing Central Oregon
Produced by the same people that created the Mountain Biking maps of
Portland and SW Washington, this is another great product.
The map allows you to combine two exciting and fun outdoor activities,
by showing directions, and trails of mountain biking and skiing areas in
Central Oregon. In all there are 9 separate maps showing 32 different
areas. One map shows the area west and south of Bend with it's numerous
trails. Each trail has it's own description, and you can combine
trails to make longer rides.
This map can be purchased through Compass Mentus by going to our catalog
and searching on Biking.

Cultus Loop
Mountain Bike Trail
(Description taken from Mountain Biking & Cross Country skiing by Fat
Tire Publications)
The trailhead can be reached by traveling 35 miles southwest of Bend
on Highways 97 and 40 to the Cascade Lakes Highway(Hwy 46) Head left(south
to the Cultus Lake access road, follow this road a couple of miles to the
picnic area at the lake. (about 1 hour from Bend)
The trail is about 12 miles long and will take about 2-3 hours to ride.
It is best ridden in summer and fall and is an intermediate trail which
provides a moderate aerobic workout.
This trail is popular with hikiers and horses so it should be avoided
during busy summer weekends.
| This is a grat singletrack through a subalpine forest with swimming
in the clear, blue waters of Cultus Lake. Its best to ride this loop
in a clockwise direction. Be sure to get a milkshake at the Cultus
Lake Resort after your effort. |
Maps that cover this trail are: Mountain Biking & Cross Country
