Sure I’ll go! – 01/02/12

Jerry called this morning and after talking for awhile he mentioned a trip he took yesterday.  This got me to thinking that it would be nice to go on a little rockhounding trip.  I mentioned it to him and before we knew it we were on the road.  I checked the weather and there was supposed to be a 50% chance of precipitation.  This didn’t dampen our enthusiasm, and as it turned out it didn’t start raining until we were on our way back to the truck.

The area we went to was the same as I mentioned in my previous post(Last Day of the Year!).

Last Day of the Year!

Storms moved through western Washington all week, making it to wet for this old fossil to head for the woods.

Saturday( the last day of the year) arrived clear and sunny.  Mark was staying with us, so off we went.  Loading the gear into the truck we left the house at 10:00am arriving at our destination at 11:30am.

This gave us about 3 hours to ride to the dig site, and try to find some nice carnelian.

The hills are steep!
